'68 Pontiac Catalina

This was my first car.  I bought it in 1978 for $500.  For a cheap car it ran great.  The only time that it wouldn't start was the day that I left the keys in ignition and locked the doors.  I sold it just before I moved to Florida in 1983.

I bought this car from the bartender at Tiki Gardens in Indian Shores Beach in 1985 for $350.  The body had a lot of rust but the rest of the car ran pretty good.  The large engine had a 4 barrel carburetor and would accelerate like a rocket.  In the summer of 1986 I decided to move to Colorado.  About half way across Texas the power steering went out and the mechanic said it would cost several hundred to repair so I ended up driving the rest of the way without power steering.  I drove the car like this until the transmission finally crapped out in 1991.

I bought this car because I was really getting tired of riding the bus.  After about one year it started to fall apart one item at a time.  First the transmission failed then the engine.  I put a lot of miles on this thing driving up into the mountains on the weekends.  I decided to trade it in but before I got the chance, I was rear ended and the car was totaled.

'98 Dodge Avenger

I used the insurance check to buy this car in 2000.  I saw it on the lot and just wanted it.  This vehicle was perfect.  It was loaded with leather seats, moon roof, A/C, Advanced Infinity Sound System and power everything.  I drove it everywhere and it never needed anything beyond oil changes and a minor tune up.

'03 Dodge Durango SLT+

In December 2006 we got hit with several bizzards one right after the other.  As much as I liked the Avenger, I needed to get a vehicle that can handle this kind of weather.  So I traded the Avenger for this Durango.  I shopped around and this was the one that I liked. Like the Avenger this car was loaded with everything including heated leather seats, auto dimming mirrors, custom sound system and GPS.  I plan on taking this car on a road trip around the USA.

'72 Lunar Rover

After moving to the moon, I will need a vehicle to get around the neighborhood.  This used car should do just fine.  It is a convertable with power everything and 4-wheel drive for those long drives to the office in the next crater.  The batteries can be recharged by solar power and you never have to worry about flat tires.
